“The US has announced the creation of a new intelligence agency led by the CIA to co-ordinate all American overseas spying activities. The director of the new agency, whose identity will remain secret and is simply known as “Jose”, will report directly to the head of the CIA, Porter Goss. ”This is the information found on BBC News but in fact The National Clandestine Service (NCS) is the American national authority for coordinating U.S. human intelligence (HUMINT) services, that will absorb the entirety of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA)’s Directorate of Operations, and will also coordinate HUMINT between the CIA and other agencies, including, but not limited to, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Defense Intelligence Agency, Air Intelligence Agency, Army Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM), Marine Corps Intelligence Activity, and Office of Naval Intelligence. “Jose,” was appointed on October 14, 2005. The above was reported by Wikipedia. But now, who should we believe?

Moving to Zürich

I am moving to Zürich at the end of December, the latest mid January. This time around , I feel at peace. I lived in Zürich for a few months last year, I had it all to be happy but, I almost lost my sanity. The adventure almost left me with an aversion for the city. The way I felt was entirely my fault, it was all created by my perspective on things, I knew it, but I just couldn’t fight the feeling of isolation, lost of control and sadness. But this time it is different. My life is less messy ( I do not dare to say in order) I feel, at peace and I know Zürich will be good to me.

German Lessons

I have found an amazing German tutor that gives me hope that I will speak one day. Her name is Ulli and she is outstanding. This would be my 3rd serious attempt at studying German. I am afraid of making mistake, I feel horribly shy when I speak, but that is the only way. I hope to polish my skill in the next 3 months and reach a point where I can say that I speak fluently 4 languages. I think that it is a possibility. On the left is the book that I am using, plus additional material that she provides. Ich verstehe nicht yet !

Family and friends where either surprised, happy or hurt that we did not include them in the most intimate decision of our life. Some seem to have forgotten the genuine happiness that this day brought to our heart.
Our wedding day was magical and all we hoped for.

Internship

I am ecstatic, I have found an internship on my own in order to complete my degree , the interview was quick and painless. I was nervous at first, knowing that I would be extremely disappointed if I wasn’t offered a position, I even managed to mispell my own name on my resume. (no comments please)
But despite it all they took me on and starting November 7th I will be working with C# and Perl and I can’t wait for this next 3 weeks until I can start to ‘play’ . The main goal of the internship will be a J2ee project combined with bugzilla.
I am running toward the finish line and it feels sooo good.

Sun Certified Programmer

I have had that goal since 1998, at the beginning of the dotcom boom. You would always find on my top 10 list of things to do in this life time: “Obtain by SCJP”.
We are now 2005 and I am closer then I have ever been to make this happen. I have just received the voucher from Sun Microsystem that states that I MUST take the exam within a year from now.
So, all should be fine and dandy right ?After all, I have completed successfully three Java courses. My grades were outstanding ,so why am I avoiding to prepare for it. Why am I so afraid ?

Creative M vs iPod

Let’s start with the important stuff here: independence from iTune, standard USB cable for transfer, support for the main video formats, build-in mic for voice recording, a keyword search option and a built-in FM tuner that can also be recorded. In my opinion, the iPod division of Apple is about branding and I dare to say, not fully about the technology, the iPod is a departure from what Apple has been known to do very well: PowerBooks, iMacs…to name a few. Creative on the other hand was one of the first to market digital music players in 2000 focusing on what the user needed and wanted versus imposing standards. So what do you want: the cool looking player or the player that gives you what you want for a decent amount of money ? Actually the Vision: M looks cool too, I wonder why ? ;-)
